Looked at Yelp for a quick breakfast, what a surprise! We stopped at Sunrise Cafe (looked like just a store front). Parking lot was not full but when we opened the door it was packed! Service was great! Heather greeted us, provided a table, menus and explained specials. Coffee was tasty...hubby had chicken fajita omelet and red potatoes and a homemade biscuit. I had ham, broccoli cheddar quiche with fruit & raisin toast. Great service, folks were friendly and food was tasty at a great price! We will be back!

I found Sunrise Cafe on Yelp as I was literally driving by at lunch time. Noticing the good reviews, and looking at another hour before getting back to Cocoa, I decided to check them out.

This cafe / diner is nestled in amongst a string of businesses in a dated strip plaza, and could easily be missed unless you were specifically looking for it.  (Sometimes these types of places can be "Hidden Gems")

I entered and observed a large open seating arrangement with multiple tables and chairs and a bar countertop to accommodate patrons in the classic Diner style. One of the servers yelled at me to sit wherever I liked, so I found a table next to the window.

I was examining the "Daily Specials" on the board behind the bar countertop when my server came over and asked for my order. I motioned to the board and asked what she recommended. She said the ham salad sandwich along with the cauliflower cheese soup were both very good.  ...Ok, so let me be frank here, I'm not a big fan of ham salad, I've never really found the taste very satisfying, not sure why, but that's it. It had been years, maybe decades, since I've had it, ...but I had asked her, and she recommended it, so what the hey!  "Sure sounds good, I'll have that."  (Along with an A&W root beer, of course).

The cauliflower and cheese soup came out within minutes.  It was very good! I would definitely recommend it, and would get it again.  About 10 minutes later, my ham salad sandwich arrived. I had ordered it with lettuce and tomatoes on wheat bread.  I must admit the ham salad was good and the tomatoes were very fresh and tasty - in fact they pushed my vote for this sandwich over the top to a "Yes" endorsement, it was good.  (The A&W root beer was very good, of course).

The only negative I can say is that my table was not completely wiped down, as I took a napkin and swept a piece of small rice? off my table.

My server was very nice and friendly.  The service was prompt - from entrance to exit, no more than 30 minutes. The price was very reasonable (including tip - $10), and the food was solid, very nice home cooked meals. They're only open until 1:30pm and I'm sure their breakfast items are very deserving. For all these reasons, I give Sunrise Cafe 4 Stars. Maybe not a "Hidden Gem", but definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Warm and friendly and reasonably priced! I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough and it was fabulous. No complaints. My son had the country fried steak and gravy, with eggs and  biscuits. He liked it. My husband had strawberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon. He said it was delicious. We were just passing through and kind of in a hurry, and everything came out fast. Our waitress was a sweetheart. If we pass by again, we will definitely stop in.

Just had breakfast here and it was fantastic. The chicken fried steak was one of if not the best I've had in my life. They offer both coke and Pepsi. The eggs we ordered were both cooked perfectly. And the roasted red potatoes were awesome. Will definitely return. Leslie our server was super attentive and filled every request almost before we asked.

Discovered this little gem through Yelp.  Every time I travel I always look for a small, out of the way place with home style cooking.  This time I finally found it.  Sunrise Cafe served me one of THE best breakfasts I've had in many years!!!  The chicken fried chicken was THE best I've ever had.  They make it fresh everyday.  Oh and fresh grits, not instant!!!   Yummy yummy.  The service is excellent and everything is priced nicely.  You certainly will NOT be disappointed. Wish, wish, wish I lived closer, I'd eat here every day.
